Screen Printing
Saturday, December 1
Hours: 10 am - 5 pm
Level of experience: all levels
Instructor: Dana Fehsenfeld
Students will pay the instructor a materials fee of $35, based on the use of the following materials:
- 20x24" Screen (with emulsion)
- ink
- vellum
Students should bring:
- apron
- Black Faber-Castell PITT artist pen in different thicknesses (they come in small, fine, medium, brush, and large—any of these are ok but get a couple of varying line weights.)
- 1-1.5 yards of of natural fiber fabric: linen, cotton, or muslin work nicely, or perhaps an existing garment or item you'd like to embellish.
(the inks are waterbased and non-toxic and print well on most colors but will show up best on lighter colors).
- some sketches, motifs or visual inspiration you would like to use to print onto fabric...images with high contrast work best...you'll be redrawing and simplifying them (instructor will also bring a number of books, transparencies, and imagery so feel free to come with an open mind and create something on the spot).
